Holocaust Survivor Visits AGC
Mr. Sol Lurie visits Curtin today to tell his story as a survivor of the Holocaust to WASD 8th grade Lit. Media students. Students have read, The Diary of Anne Frank, and will be able to truly understand this book by listening to an actual Holocaust survivor. We appreciate the opportunity to visit with Mr. Lurie.
Governor Chamber Orchestra Brings Down the House at PMEA Conference
It was an honor to introduce our AGC Chamber Orchestra last Thursday at PMEA. They brought down the house! This was my first music conference and it is pretty cool because everyone there is really in to music. Our orchestra was playing in the lower lobby and a mass of people just stopped in their tracks to take in the smooth moves of Mr. Radspinner and sounds of the group. Standing O and an extended applause rang throughout the conference center. It was great to see all of the WASD music teachers there supporting out kids! WASD Music is a machine, get involved!

Boomrats!
Mr. Menges' students use last century logging tools to timber as part of their PA Studies course. They compared the ol' two man saw with modern technology (chainsaw). They also discussed safety features of lumberjacks which were NONE! Compared to safety tools of today. Alex and Brandon beat the school record for cutting the timber.
