One Big Dude!

Thanks to Mr. Fausnaught, my two sons were able to meet PSU center Stefan Wisniewski today. It was a pretty cool experience to see how big he really is next to the boys.

WAHS Alumni Soccer Game

Principal Poole and I played in the annual WAHS Alumni Soccer Game Saturday evening. Mr. Poole coached the boys team for three seasons and I played for the Millionaires 85-88. I also was the assistant boys coach for four seasons, '93-'96. Mr. Poole had a goal in the game. Best of luck to the team this season. Curtin alumni represent well on the squad.

Congrats to the Zangara Family

Mr. and Mrs. Zangara welcomed their new addition this past Friday into the world. They now have four girls in the household. If we count Mrs. Z and their dog, Bella, who is a girl, that makes six. Congratulations to all of you.

Little League = Back to School

Little League World Series starts in a couple of days. In fact, the Grand Slam Parade is going on downtown tomorrow evening. My son's are riding on a float with their league. We enjoy going to games but it also means it is time to go back to school. I look forward to seeing students at our new student orientation on August 26th in the auditorium.

Tater's Baseball

It was a "Dog Day of Summer" this past Saturday as our Tater's Gang baseball team competed in the Franzi Tournament in Jersey Shore. Both of my sons are on the team. They played a double header on Saturday. What a great day it was watching baseball and being around great kids and families for the day. We won our first game of the day 10-5 over Roan's. My former student and friend, Noah, had two homers in the game. One was a grand slam. What a performance! The team fell to Loyalsock 6-5 in the third place game. Tater's finished 4th in a field of 10 teams. I would like to thank Coach Esposito, Coach Luke, Coach Niklaus, and Coach Tate for teaching our boys about baseball, but more importantly about life! Awesome job guys. Have a great school year and see you back on the diamond.

Little League Tailgate

A Tater's Tailgate occurred Friday evening in Jersey Shore as my two son's, Connor and Cameron, had a game against Newberry. Our team came up short but had fun tailgating with other families before the game. We had subs and soda. Our next game is tomorrow afternoon at 1PM.

Cash for Clunkers

Mr. Fausnaught cashed in his clunker for a brand new 2009 Honda Civic. I like the fact that he is thinking "green" to enhance our quality of life on our wonderful planet. Did you know that his new car gets 39 miles per gallon. He will need that fuel economy with all those trips up the high school hill.

PNC Park

Just wanted to include a picture of PNC Park. I know that the Pirates are not doing so well but felt they needed to feel the love of our visit to Pittsburgh too.

The Pittsburgh Zoo

This past weekend my family and I traveled to Pittsburgh to see the Pirates play and visit the Pittsburgh Zoo. The Pirates lost 6-4 to the Cardinals. It was a great night for a ball game. As many know, I am a huge Pittsburgh fan...Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. Two out of three isn't bad. The zoo was fantastic. They have a great shark and polar bear display. If you ever get the chance to go to the P-Burgh Zoo, be sure to go.

Hole In One - United Way Golf Outing

Check it out! Mr. Poole testing out the hole-in-one prize on hole number 14 at the White Deer Golf Course. Anyone who made a hole-in-one on this hole would walk away with the keys. Needless to say...Mr. Poole, Mr. Fausnaught, Mr. Zangara, and myself did not win the car but we had a great day of golf for a good cause. It was a true team effort! Looking forward to the next outing.

Family

My family and I went to Bear Creek Lake in the Pocono's to spend the weekend with my father's side of the family. This is a picture of all the great grand-children on the boat. We had a great time at the lake house and enjoy going there every first weekend of August. I slept in the tent and it rained pretty hard. My son, Connor and I, stayed fairly dry.
