WAGC

Congrats to our in house TV station - WAGC TV. They are responisble for broadcasting our morning announcements on a daily basis in Governorland. I watched a live performance the other day and thought that it was the Today show. Great job everyone with keeping all informed of events happening at AGC. Thanks to Mrs. Welty for keeping the show rolling!

New Lunch Set-Up

What do you think of the set-up for lunch period this school year? Is it better than last? What are some ways to improve it further.

The students have done a nice job starting the new school year off on the right foot. WAGC is up and running and doing great keeping everyone informed through their morning announcements.

Anyone interested in Student Council? A meeting is planned for next week after school in Mrs. Vogt's room. Consider joining and getting active in the Curtin Community! We need you.

The softball team played well in their scrimmage earlier in the week vs. Roosevelt. Nice work girls!

The football team scrimmaged the Loyalsock Lancers tonight.

Claim to Fame - LLWS Parade

Old Lycoming Little League All-Stars had a float in the LLWS parade. Check out the cameo on youtube. This is my claim to fame. It was great seeing 30,000 plus people out supporting youth athletics. My family and I have been over three times so far. My oldest son was there for 10 hours on Saturday. We are routing Southeast! They won tonight.

Amazing Race

Did anyone watch Phelps' last race? Unbelievable! He won by 1 one-hundredth of a second. Incredible!

I went to Little Leage today with my family. It was packed. It is amazing the number of people there today. My two boys like to trade pins. Cam wanted to get a Southeast t-shirt because his teacher this year for third grade is their team uncle, Mr. Cioffi at Round Hills. They were sold out but we will try again later in the week.

Grand Slam of a Time!

We were fortunate enought to participate in the Grand Slam Parade last night. What a great experience for my two kids. We are so fortunate to live in such a great area! Good luck to all the Little League teams, especially Mr. Cioffi's SouthEast team from Florida. Good luck Uncle Mick!

Look Who is Back in the Classroom as Students!

Mr. Greevy and Mr. Bartholomew were back in the classroom this summer as students. They are completing their graduate work at Wilkes University in Educational Leadership. Good luck to both of them as they continue to add tools to their tool belts to be the instructional leaders that they are!

Man or Fish

This guys is amazing! Another gold medal for Michael Phelps, total 9 gold medals. I watched a special on him last night and he consumes approx. 8,000-10,000 calories per day and can't gain any weight. I guess that is what happens when you spend 5 hours a day in the pool swimming. He will most likely win 5 more gold medals! Incredible!

Jet Favre

What do you think about Brett "Broadway" Favre? Interesting place for this football icon to land for this coming season.

Medal Count

As of this evening we are tied with China in the medal count with 8 medals each, leading the games to date. The "Redeem Team" started off well with a nice win over host county China. We hope to strike gold with this team. The countdown to the Olympics arrived on 8-8-08, next countdown is to the first day of school. I am looking forward to seeing eveyone back at AGC.
I also want to give a shout out to Mr. Fausnaught over at LTMS. He is healing from having his tonsils removed a week ago Friday. I hear that this is not a fun procedure for adults.

8.8.08 - Olympics Open Today

The Olympics open tonight in China. This is a very exciting time for the athletic world. I wonder if Michael Phelps will win 8 gold medals? (he is a beast or fish) or If the men's basketball team can return to gold in 2008. They have been a disappointment in the past several international competitions.

Hope everyone likes the new look of the blog? They have added some pretty cool new features to blogger.com. Be sure to take the survey at the bottom of the page regarding your summer.

Fall Sports are Starting at AGC

Get ready for fall sports AGC students! If you are planning to play football or softball make sure that you have your physical and get in touch with your coach. Football players can contact Coach Decker and softball players need to get in touch with Coach Maffett (Bower). I wish all of our student athletes a successful upcoming sport season. See you soon!

Remember that there is a new student orientation on Aug. 20 at 6PM in the auditorium.
