On Sunday, July 22nd, my two sons and I attended our first New York Yankee game in the Bronx. My oldest son, Connor, has become a Yankee fan due to his third grade teacher Mr. Cioffi. My younger son, Cameron and I, remain loyal to our favorite team, the Pittsburgh Pirates who are on the verge of their 15th consecutive losing season, Ouch! The Yankees beat the Devil Rays 21-4. There were 7 homeruns in the game total. A-Rod, Shelley Duncan (2), Robinson Cano, Meekly Cabrera, and Jorge Posada all hit dingers. We are going out to see the Pirates play in two weeks.
We were able to see the progress of the new Yankee Stadium being built which is to open for the 2009 season. I am glad that we were able to make it to Yankee Stadium where so many legends have played like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Thurman Munson, and Roger Maris, just to name a few, have played.
